Dioxazine Violet

How can I resist purple ?..

and using it to paint the water lily was something I had long wanted to do....

Dioxazine purple and cerulean blue...
and Quinacridone nickel Azo Gold...

and a little "vintage" treatment and some collaging later.....

It was a therapeutic process painting this today
and when I signed my name on this piece..
it felt good....:))

so..what's your flower? :)

This is sooo gorgeous Steph!!! Really amazing! I love the subdued "watery" effect and the texture also. Just gorgeous!
I love all flowers, it is hard to choose, but I think my favorite is the oriental poppy.

Beautiful colors! I love hydrangeas, especially the blue variety. I would love to learn to paint them! Have a lovely weekend.

This is beautiful. Of course I'm impressed with the colors, but I'm also impressed with the drawing portion, too. This is truly marvelous and I can see why it felt so good!

I'm not sure my comment went through. I really wanted you to know how special I think this piece is.
