Travel journal...

I spent the weekend
fixing my sewing machine
and with much determination
I wanted to make a journal for an upcoming trip..

and I'm glad I persevered...

this is the cover of my travel journal..

(This is a giclee print from DJ Petitt)

I'll be posting the pages of this journal soon..

As for the trip, I've been looking forward to it..
It's not our usual trip as tourists
but more so with a purpose..
something I've been wanting to do for a long time.....

And so I wish you a happy happy week ahead

love always

Thinking of you....

6x6 collage on chipboard
The main image is a personal collection from
my travel photography "faces" series.

As I sat down to put this piece together
I remembered my little Cambodian girl
with much fondness.
I have been thinking, meditating and searching,
and "I pray for your safety..."

the true path to liberation is to let go of everything"

collage study...

I've been doing much paper and scissors collage lately
simply because I wanted continuity in my creative process
and
I am learning so much
from it all
and
once I start pasting down my collage materials...
very soon I find myself engaging in layers of shapes, colors, looking for dark and light shades etc....
and
often times when there's an urge to use a particular image or collage material
I said to myself..."just do it" as it's pure experimentation in every way...

"song of joy"- collaged ephemera
6"x6" chipboard

I critique my own work thereafter and just like this piece, I certainly can see
some changes I would make
but I love this anyway...... :))
the way it is
it reminds me of the learning process I've so enjoyed..
truly refreshing.

Have an artful weekend!!
