Green Gold..

Thank you everyone for your well wishes..
MIL has been discharged from the hospital and is recuperating at home.

Today...I experimented with the color
green gold..

this is still a WIP and a color study on painting layered flowers
using water color...

and I've learnt to mix green gold with:

Phthalo green and blue
Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold (QNAC)
Burnt Sienna

to achieve different shades...
discovering how the colors "behave"....
and created form..

it was hard work....
looking for light and shade...

but I'm pressing on..
and will be doing a few more..
and documenting my journey.....

happy sunday!!!

I am glad you are documenting these on your blog. I mixed some colors to make teal a few months ago and I had to keep fairly accurate records of what I did. I can't believe something supposedly that simple could be that intricate. I still enjoy mixing colors, even after playing with teal for DAYS. Your colors and the various shades you added are stunning.

Glad to hear you MIL is doing better. I think your painting is lovely. I've tried watercolors and just can't seem to get them to do what I want. :/ Hope you are having a good day. Tammy

The color of green tea! Wonderful coneflower study, fun to play with color and see where it takes you. I was taking echinacea for the last few days so I really appreciate this flower! xox Corrine
