I've been sketching the past week in my journal..
and after which do a color wash with water colors over the sketch..
I finally bought myself a fountain pen (cheap one to start off with)
and a bottle of permanent ink..

Sketching brought a whole lot of a different experience altogether
especially when there is a preference for ink sketching...

and I had to pluck up courage to sketch in a public place....
a day out at the library...

a way of seeing...
and lots of patience and committing oneself to the whole process..

How beautiful. I adore the first sketch and coloring at the tea house in China. I am also impressed with the sketches at your library. It must be intimidating to do that while people come and go. I bet these will be awesome once you color them in. I LOVE your art.

It's hard to find the 'comments' button on your blog!!! I think you would have a ton more comments, if it was more visible!!
With that said, I love your work. It's expressive! It seems to really come from somewhere deep inside and it shows. Never been to Singapore. Hopefully some day...

Great sketches! They are all great, but I admire you for sketching in the library, working like that in public can be very intimidating.
