The Nautilus shell...

My husband loves the Nautilus shell and he collects them....

I've been wanting to present him with one on a canvas but it took me quite a while to pluck up courage
to create a piece of art on a bigger scale.... well, I finally did it and here it is.....

This is a 12" x 12" canvas board
The diagram is first sketched onto the canvas thereafter molding paste is used to create texture
Collaged vintage text at the base and layers are built with acrylic paints, creating the highs and lows
The original art piece has more vibrant colors of pyrolle orange, hansa yellow, burnt umber, titanium white, titan buff and a layer of gold glaze....

I've learnt so much through this experience, and will certainly do it again...

Blessings

When I looked at the two nautilus shells together it made me think of "Love birds" :)
