Tea related art on Tuesday!
I've been wanting to post these for a while now...
Thank you all who stopped by and for your warm wishes..
I am well but a little too busy at work and squeezing in time being a "weekend artist".....
I've been lurking in blogland (too) :)) once in a while
and I know I have missed much creativity and art and yes your tea stories...
so I have been sketching and painting and collaging away...
and here'a a few to share and they are tea related of course.....
collage and watercolor
Tulsi or the holy basil is one of my favourite teas...
I had this at work and managed to sketch it during lunch....
these sketches are done with reference to an existing illustration relating to
tea producing villages (in China) and their livelihood...
so if you are a tea aficionado like Kimmie and friends, you will love their tea stories for sure...
Happy Tuesday!!

Tea with a vew of .....
the lonesome fisherman.....
who lived in a house on stilts..
between modern civilization and tradition..
and when evening comes....
the fisherman returns....
and before you know it..
he is out at sea again the next morning...
and as for me,
I simply soaked in this moment....
of peaceful surroundings...
appreciating the quietness..
as I sipped my English breakfast tea...
at the Eastern and Oriental Hotel , Penang
a lovely weekend indeed....
follow Kimmie for more tea stories and have a Happy Tuesday!!

Tea story on the ancient tea horse road.....
I couldn't help but sketch this from an existing picture....
they say in learning to sketch or draw, practice is a good mantra... :))

the scene is a group of villagers transporting tea through the mountains in China..
this is a 8 x 16 inches ink sketch and watercolor wash..
and since it's Tea Tuesday hop over to Kimmie's and find other
tea enthusiasts and their wonderful tea stories....
while I get my cup of chinese white tea and do my share of blog hopping....
Happy Tuesday!!

"would you buy some tea from me?......."
said the little boy...
as we walked up the slope towards the village....
"these tea are fresh.... and my parents
just made them today"... ;)
insisted the little boy who was determined to
make his first sale of the day....
and that was it..
I bought 3 bags of tea from these kids of the
Wa ethnic minority village
in Yunnan, China.

I've selected the following photos for this post as I know my blog friends
who have a special interest in fabric art will be delighted.
we were gifted with their unique and beautiful fabric weaved by these women.... ;)
( here's a glimpse of the beautiful embroidery (the bag) and weaving style
of the Wa ethnic group.)
and after a week of volunteer work in Yunnan, we returned with
fond memories and a thankful heart...
Happy T Tuesday!!

Tuesday on Dempsey..
I found this post in my "draft" section
and it seemed I had it prepared for T Tuesday
but got busy
with work and etc.....
so here it is a belated post on Dempsey Hill
a tranquil enclave during the day...
with restaurants and little shops selling unique gifts..
from art galleries to furniture shops....
we finally settled for lunch at one of our favourite Indian restaurant
we had lunch on banana leaf..
with lovely grilled tandoori and vegetables...
and an iced cold lime juice.
Happy T Tuesday!!

Tea Tuesday
It's been a while since I last posted on T Tuesday
where Kimmie and other Tea friends
gather to share their tea adventures...
I've been going on my little "sketchcrawls" lately
and here are some photos taken along the way.....
First stop: Clarke Quay
then off to lunch at the Empress Place.
Lunch was lettuce wrap with grilled meat, Indo Chinese style...
and in tropical Singapore, a glass of cold iced tea..
and here's a little greeting to usher in
the Chinese Lunar New Year of the dragon....
Happy Tea Tuesday!!!
